Vote for The Copy Detective in the People's Choice Round #bestblogs2013

It’s that time of year again. The time when blog writers throw their hat in the ring to be judged and validated by a team of experts. I’m talking about the Australian Writers’ Centre Best Australian Blogs competition.

I’ve always been a voter, supporting my favourite blogs: the blogs I look out for in my inbox, the blogs I bookmark and enjoy over a cup of tea, the blogs that change the way I work, write and play.

This year, I decided I should throw my own hat into the ring…. And so I have.

Here’s how it works

The team at the Australian Writers’ Centre read all the entries and create a longlist for each category. After hours and hours of discussion and re-reading, these become shortlists. The shortlists are announced finalists. Each shortlist is sent to the relevant category judge, who scores the finalists and selects the category winner.

The category winning blogs then go into a final round. In the final round, these blogs are scored again by the category judges and competition coordinator. The blog with the highest score wins the 2013 title.

So it’s all above board.

Here’s what you can do

The People’s Choice round is the big popularity competition and this is where I’d love your help.

If you’ve found these blog posts useful, interesting or even humorous (and I hope you have), vote for The Copy Detective. That’s all.

You can vote for multiple blogs, but you can only vote in the survey once. Make sure you click “Finish” at the end to make your vote count, and remember to include your email so you can find out who wins!

I’m listed under “T” so you have click to page 5, voting for other blogs you love along the way, but from there it’s dead easy.

Voting closes on Tuesday April 30th 2013 and you can use the Twitter hashtag #bestblogs13 to tell aaaaaaall your friends.

So go on, validate an old copywriter in his work.

  1. I added my vote for your fabulous blog 🙂

For my two cents worth on the voting process, I’d like the Writers Centre / SurveyMonkey to add a usability feature in future that lets me search for the blog I want to vote for, rather than scrolling down and clicking “next” several times to get through the long list of entrants.

    Good luck!

    1. Thanks Mel! I really appreciate the support.

I hear you on the voting process. It’s only a few clicks but it was suuuuuch a pain. And I only realised After I’d voted that you can vote for multiple blogs but you have to vote for them all together!

      Thanks again for your support!

      1. Me too! I’m gutted. I would have voted for about 20 of them. Sorry Belinda. I would have loved to vote for The Copy Detective.
